Notice
Notice things about yourself you've stopped seeing.
Understand yourself before trying to change yourself.
Second Self asks you questions most people never get asked, and helps you make sense of the answers.
Before anything changes
Few people ever stop to ask why.
Most of us repeat the same reactions. The same habits in relationships. The same excuses.
Not because we choose them. Because we rarely stop long enough to see them.
Second Self helps you notice what has been there all along.
Why I built this
They struggle because they've never been given a way to organise those thoughts.
Second Self doesn't give advice. It asks better questions.
What you'll experience
Notice things about yourself you've stopped seeing.
Look at the beliefs, habits and relationships that made you who you are.
Get clear on what actually matters to you, not what you've always assumed matters.
Put it in writing — a short manifesto for how you want to live from here.
Who it's for
Made mainly with one person in mind — but if you recognise yourself in any of this, it's for you too.
01
Men rebuilding after divorce or separation
When the story changes and you're left working out who you are inside it.
02
Fathers wanting greater self-awareness
Understanding what you're passing on, and what you'd rather not.
03
Men entering a new chapter of life
A new decade, a new role, a quieter house — a good moment to take stock.
04
Anyone wanting to understand themselves better
Built with men in mind first, but the questions work for anyone willing to look closely.
What you'll leave with
Why this exists

A few years ago my marriage ended.
Like a lot of people, I'd built so much of my identity around being a husband and a father that I didn't really know who I was without those roles.
I knew how to support other people. I knew how to solve problems. But when it came to my own life, I wasn't sure what I actually believed anymore — what mattered to me, or who I wanted to become.
I went looking for something to help me work that out. I found books full of advice, and journals full of blank pages I never filled in. Therapy gave me valuable conversations, but I wanted something I could sit with on my own and come back to.
I couldn't find it, so I started designing it.
Second Self isn't here to tell you who to become. It's built to help you understand who you already are — and write something down, a personal manifesto for the next chapter of your life.
I've spent more than a year building and refining this. It's still early, and I'm still learning.
Early beta
Enough time to try the experience properly, and enough honesty to tell me where it falls short. This isn't about finding people who'll say it's good. It's about finding people who'll say where it could be better.
